ABOUT US

BraCE

BraCES is a project proposed by a small group of Brazilian researchers from Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Salvador, Brazil, with the objective of compiling a corpus of Lingua Franca - Spanish and English - in interactions happening in our local context, in Brazil. Here you will find all the information about the researchers, the corpus, references that base our pillars of investigation. The main idea here is to instigate and motivate different research projects around Brazil - and also the world - which aim to analyze corpus and understand how speakers use the language to interact with each other in a multilingual context. This site is a door for new discussions in the Lingua Franca research area and everybody is completely welcome to join the group and share opinions, works, and interests with us.

We hope you enjoy it!

ILF BRASIL

This is an initiative of a small group of Brazilian researchers from Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Salvador, Brazil, with the objective of sharing our ideas, concerns, and discoveries related to the global spread of the English language, and its political, ideological, and pedagogic implications around the world, and more specifically in our instructional and social contexts. Here you will find different sections centered around the three main pillars of our interests of investigation, Criticism, Attitude, and Identity, closely intertwined with the condition of English as the world’s lingua franca. This is a door for new friends and colleagues to join the group and share their opinions, works, and interests with us. Contributions and suggestions are most welcome.

We hope you enjoy it!
